Hey Everyone! How have you guys been? First things first, I am so overwhelmed by the response I’m getting from you guys on the blog, and facebook. Thankyou so much for the love and support! You guys are my shining stars and I’m nothing without you guys!

Now let’s get to business! A few posts ago when I wrote about how the undertone affects the makeup, I got a comment regarding concealers, so I thought why not go ahead and help you all out by writing a post that covers each and everything you need to know about concealers! So let’s dive right into the details!

WHAT IS A CONCEALER???
Now this is a question that you should probably ask anyone and everyone and most of the people will tell you that it’s a product that brightens up the face, or it covers up dark circles, or some may even say it’s a makeup must and no matter what we have to use it!

Concealer, as the name suggests, is a product, that helps you conceal imperfections, so they do not pop up once you have your makeup on. So it can be used as something that brightens the skin up, but that is not what a concealer is actually used for. Brightening the skin up is the work of an illuminator not a concealer. A concealer however is used to cover up dark circles, hyper pigmentation, tattoos and scars and even discoloration of the skin.

DO I NEED A CONCEALER EVERY TIME I APPLY MAKEUP?
Nope! You do not need to use a concealer every time you put on makeup. The need for a concealer to be applied, depends upon your skin. If you have flawless skin, no dark circles or discoloration, then you don’t need to use concealer at all. However if you have spots or dark circles, then you need to put it on.
HOW MUCH CONCEALER DO I NEED?
As much or as little as you want. This again depends upon two things, one, the intensity of the pigmentation you need to cover up, and two, the coverage of your concealer. If you have very little pigmentation, you need a very little amount of concealer to cover it up, this again depends if you are using a full coverage concealer. If however, the coverage of your concealer is less, then you may need to use a lot of product just to cover up minimal imperfections.

WHAT KIND OF COVERAGE SHOULD I OPT FOR?
Before I answer this question, there is another very important thing that I need to mention, what is coverage? Coverage is basically the amount of pigmentation in any product. If it is full coverage, it will definitely have a dense amount of pigmentation to it, if it is medium coverage, it will have somewhat less pigmentation to it.
So if you want to cover up minimal to no imperfections, you should opt for a medium to light coverage, however if you have dark under eyes, or have pigmentation that shows prominently, then you should probably go for a full coverage concealer.

CREAM OR LIQUID? WHAT SHOULD I BUY?
It depends! Again if you have very dry and flaky skin, the best option os a liquid concealer. If you have not so dry skin, cream based will work better for you. So the best way to go for it, is to try out a product before buying it of and knowing whether or not it’ll work for you.
These were a few simple questions that I get every other day regarding concealers, so I thought I’d cover this stuff up in a post
I will be writing another post about how to choose the perfect concealer in the near future too
